A test, oh, the most painful test, 

To save oneself, or save kin by acquest.

To clutch and preserve the self, the most selfish deed,

 Or yield just to love, to die with a redeeming seed. 

The scales of fate have been so finely poised and aimed,

Yet for every possible outcome for this affair has me maimed.

Do I face the unfulfilled infinite, solitary and cold, 

Or watch a loved one's last minutes unfold?

Nothing but a forsaken assassin by my own view, 

But when it’s you or your accomplice, what would you do?
